Maintaining the Flavor & Charm of a 1950's Cottage

A small 1950’s cottage in Victoria Park, Florida is currently undergoing a major “face lift” with the help of Shuster Design! This charming home has been completely gutted as Shuster redesigns the bathrooms, kitchen, and specified wood flooring. To maintain its original flavor, the original beams, moldings, fireplace and exterior "ginger bread" elements remain, keeping the integrity and charm of this Fort Lauderdale jewel.

“There’s a word that I use often in design and its called restraint. Often it is more important to do a little less than to overdo things, and keep these interiors clean, timeless, and practical.”

What Goes Around...

A fabulous 5,000 square foot condominium unit in the Addison, a premier oceanfront luxury hi rise in Boca Raton, has just been sold to a young Manhattan couple. Louis had designed this apartment 16 years ago and the buyers immediately tracked him down to do a “face lift”!

Although extremely well maintained over the years, the update will include new fabrics, lighting, modernization of all the audio/ visual, paint, wallcoverings, new carpets, artwork and accessorizing.

Louis looks forward to revisiting his past!
